"Quick easy and lovely. Didn't have any wholemeal flour so used 200 gms plain and 25 bran. Will try the wholemeal next time as I will be making it again. I always seem to have bananas to use up and it was good. Put plain chocolate chips in instead of the nuts which worked well but will try mixed dried fruit. It is a good basic easy banana bread recipe with endless variations."

Goat's cheese, potato & onion tart

"Good, the thyme was a definite must. My husband did think it was a bit sweet. I made it with a polenta and parmesan crust instead of shortcrust the 2 cheese flavor was a good addition as think the goats just couldn't have stood on it's own and there was not a hint of soggy. The fact it will freeze is a real plus. I have the 'the family' coming in a couple weeks for a buffet lunch as they number over 18 it will make a good addition and I can get ahead."

"A good houmous recipe when I made it up to 3 garlic cloves and added 2 tbsps of tahini. Used a big lemon so it was very light on the palate."

"Lovely buttery, crumbly pastry. As a traditionalist used half egg/h2o to bind & rolled out. Made 2 doz. Greased, so no probs coming out of tins. Elizabeth David mincemeat I made last year a crowning glory. Well worth making this mincemeat. A lovely gift, Have kept other batches at least 3 years. Probably will not make any other type mincemeat pie pastry in future."

"''I made this summer soup with the last of the toms from the greenhouse. Each of the flavours came through beautifully and it only needed the smallest bit of salt. I must confess to not putting it through a sieve so was perhaps thicker than otherwise but gazpacho in November perhaps needs a little something extra. "
