"After reading other comments, was a little sceptical as to whether my 4 year old veggiephobic son would like these. I'm glad to say that he loved them. I made his first (without the chives) and then added chives to the remaining batter. I can't get self-raising flour, so added 2ts baking powder instead..they worked out fine and were tasty. Adults ate with a chili con carne and son had his with ketchup. Will definitely make again."

"Not sure which brand of baked beans works best OR type of bread to toast? Recipe is very vague;) I did find that HP beans mixed with HP brown sauce were a nice spicy combination on toasted granary bread!"

"I used brown sugar as I couldn't get light muscovado sugar & didn't put the demerara on the top, as I thought there should be enough sweetness without adding more. I doubled up the recipe to make two cakes and used plain flour and baking powder, as I can't get SR flour here either (Norway). Both loaves turned out beautifully and taste delicious and are nice and moist. I ate mine on its own - don't think spreading butter is necessary. Will definately make again."

Pork, apple & sage burger with caramelised onions

    Tested

"I didn't make the caramelised onions as I served the burgers with potatoes, vegetables and thick onion gravy. I also made the burgers without the egg and with dried sage. Burgers were lovely and moist and full of flavour. Lovely Autumn comfort food."
