"These were delicious! I boiled them for as long as the recipe said and they were fine. They smelled a bit funny when I drained them, which put me off, but honestly, once that glaze is on and they're grilled, they tasted amazing, and they were so easy too!"

"It's become a regular accompaniment in our house - I serve it with kebabs, or griddled lamb."

"I won't use this recipe again. It didn't taste of much, despite doubling the amount of ginger and cinnamon, and adding the same again of mixed spice. Plus, I found the dough really difficult to handle - it didn't roll well, and despite adding milk, and then extra flour, it was either too dry or too sticky. The dough for the gingerbread house was much easier to use, tasted better, and was more like a biscuit than a cake. "

"This made a lovely flavoured vodka, but as a liqueur I found it just too sweet, and I didn't even use all the sugar! Think it will be good in hot chocolate though. "
