Classic scones with jam & clotted cream

"I would like to share my favorite (scones) recipe with BBC Good Food. 2 Cups Flour 1/4 cup Sugar 2 tsp Baking powder 1/8 tsp Salt 1/3 cup Butter 1/2 cup Heavy whipping cream 1 large egg 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence Heat oven to 220 C In a large bowl whisk flour,sugar,baking powder & salt.Add butter. In another bowl stir together cream, egg & vanilla. Pour cream mix into dry mix to combine. Let dough rest for 30 mins in a cool place. (You could keep it in the fridge or freezer to use later.) Roll or pat dough on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into rounds with glass or cookie cutter. You may brush them with egg yolk.( I normally reserve a tsp of egg yolk) Transfer the scones to a baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until light brown. Enjoy! "
