Ultimate chocolate cake

"Made this for the first time last week and despite needing longer in the over than stated (though that's very common for me) it turned out brilliantly. The only bugger for me is that I'm obviously not as skilled with a spatula at smoothing out the ganache as mine didn't look as silky as the one in the picture! It was like chomping through an enormous brownie covered in chocolate! Everyone who had some thought it was delicious, in fact I'm making it next week for the Macmillan Coffee Morning thing at work. It's so rich that there should be plenty to go around!"

"Really delicious and simple to make. I didn't use the fish sauce or the peanuts in mine though. I did however add chopped coriander as well as use honey in the dressing instead of palm sugar. Also, you only need one bundle of noodles for a decent sized lunch, and I'm 6' 2"! It's really nice as a side dish along a piece of griddled tuna."

"Absolutely delicious! I made this once and it was easy enough but now I get the tin lined, the oven warm and the mix all made and put into the oven within ten minutes! Not only that, it stays lovely and moist for days. My wife - who doesn't normally go for lemony desserts/cakes - loved it and the father-in-law made lots of contented groans when devouring a slice! If you've never baked before I can't think of a better place to start."

"I made this cheesecake twice last week (sans candied peel) and both times it was absolutely devoured, the first time by the girls at work - within about ten minutes! - and the second time by myself and some friends. It was delicious, reminded me of the best ones you get in New York, and really simple to make. To be honest I didn't bother with the whole cling film and water part of the recipe. I just poured the mixture onto the biscuit base, whacked it in the oven and it turned out beautifully. The only other difference was that I left it in the oven for an hour and 10 minutes instead of the 55mins suggested as it looked far too runny."
