Glazed gammon with parsley & cider sauce
7 comments
"I've done this many times now after borrowing the recipe from my brother-in-law. It's so simple to prepare the night before then a quick roast in the oven and...voila! Delicious melt in the mouth meat.... I have sometimes omitted to do the sauce and served with cumberland sauce but the parsley sauce is out of this world and well worth the extra effort."

"This was a lip smacking success! So tasty it's untrue. I will take Shirley Annes advice next time though and cook slowly in the oven. I followed this recipe to the letter but did add more cranberry than stated towards the end. I served it with crunchy parmentier potatoes and green beans...looking forward already to my next plateful!"

Beef stroganoff with herby pasta

"I have to agree with two of the other comments above...the beef was not good...no fault of the recipe though as everything else was 100% delicious. Think I'll try it with a better cut of beef next time? Or try rump again and do the freezer step...as I missed this part out due to being hungry!! Perhaps I didn't slice it thin enough...it was chewy and quite frankly spit-outable! The sauce on the other hand is a revelation to me! Fantastic flavour in hardly any time at all. The tablespoon of flour in at the onion stage and before the stock has opened up new possibilities for me in the sauce department...if I have any further luck with the steak next time, I'll leave another comment to update this one."

"Surprisingly, this was very, very tasty and I was so pleased with how it had turned out. Will definitely be making again. I didn't do the fishfinger croutons part...but will try this next time. We ate ours with some homemade bread and it went down really well with my six year old...but he wants it with fishfingers next time!"

"Did this recipe for tea yesterday...it was the tortillas that attracted me! I did halve the chicken breasts to begin with to make them flatter and cooked them in garlic before adding the toppings and putting them in the oven to bake. From previous experience this seems to make the chicken much juicier and not so dried out tasting. I loved the combination of salsa, sour cream, crunch and cheese...delicious and so easy. Recommend 100% and am doing this again for tea tomorrow night...just to use up the rest of the salsa and sour cream of course! I served with some chopped salad and vegetable rice."
