"Thought about making this for MIL's 70th birthday next weekend, so had a 'trial run' yesterday with a 20cm cake. I am definitely going to make a bigger version for the party! Not only that, but this is going to be my sponge of choice for non-chocolate celebration cakes in future - it tastes sublime and is so, so easy to make. Highly recommended! xx "

"By far and away the best chocolate cake recipe I have ever used! I add a shot of espresso and vanilla extract to the cake batter to enhance it a bit more and use a different frosting made with 200g each of butter, icing sugar and melted chocolate - simply divine. Even works as cupcakes..."

"I thought Glenys' idea to give them as raffle prizes was great so have done just that for my kids' school Christmas Fayre next weekend (for the 'jam jar' stall) - took them to school this morning with some mini muffins I made as samples... I am not sure they will last until the Fayre as teachers said they should have first 'dibs' on buying them and want the full recipe!"
