"Always a winner with family, these 'one pot' recipes! If you have them - frozen or fresh - add a couple of handfuls of fine green beans towards the end for a lovely sauce coated crunch...and at the start, a few halved baby new potatoes make a quite authentic addition to any Indian dish!"

"Riana, cumin instead of fennel seeds works well! Perhaps use orecchiette pasta (or conghiglie), the shell-like shape traps little bits of sausage and liquid for a real zing on the tongue! And I upped the meat content - 16 year old aspiring rugby pro in the house, lucky the table-top's still intact!"

"Another winner! What an easy delicious meal, in jig time really! Used a tin of Aldi's Mixed Beans (including borlotti, chick peas et al) - even better!! Served with basmati rice, just occurs to me you could use cumin seeds instead of fennel seeds for a somewhat asian slant! Now, where's the coconut milk....?"

"Yes, this has become a staple of the household! Toulouse sausage is brilliant with this, Victoria, and Tesco Finest have a Mediterranean sausage which works really well, what with the little bit of chilli and Med. herbs, Sue! Recently, I innovated - with cumin seeds, but I'll give the fennel seeds a shot, Suzanne! Gr8 dish for these 'austere times' - I can feel a Dickens moment coming...!"

"Kat has it right, a little flavourless the first time I did it, but just be a little braver with the spices and squeeze in a bit of lemon juice too! Oh yeah, no spinach once so used fresh French/green beans/fine beans, just as good!"
