"I wish I had read the comments before making these. Made them last night and was quite disappointed. Far too heavy and the crosses were not very nice either. Am going to attempt them again at the weekend using some of the tips above though!"

"Really lovely cake - tried it with and without butter and don't really think the butter is needed. I used butternut squash as had used up all my pumpkin on the pumpkin cake I also made! A few of my colleagues turned their noses up when I said it was made with butternut squash but soon changed their minds when they tasted it! I will certainly be making this again! "

"I wasn't impressed with this cake. Very dry and too chocolatey. My blendy also didn't cope well with it and started smoking! Won't be trying it again!"
