"I have just made this and cut into it. Left it to go cold to eat as a cake rather than pudding. Not sure I cooked it long enough as its soggy inside. It still tastes good though."

"I have just made this today. It was lovely, few alterations made, didn't use buttermilk, I found the mixture wet enough, put double quantity of fruit as didn't have pecan. Rather than make it in a loaf I made them in bun tins. I find I am more disciplined if they are in individual portions!! Although I have just had 2!!!"

"Tried these yesterday with some unsweetenend Chestnut Puree I had bought for a recipe from Delia. I have to say they were not nice at all. Very dry and crumbly and the taste was bland. Won't be making them again."

"This is a 5+ cake!!! I made it several weeks ago and I have just had a slice ( couldn't wait for the big day! ) It is gorgeous, the best I have tasted. After a disaster of making another fruit cake I was beginning to think I just couldn't make fruit cakes, but you just can't go wrong with this recipe. Perfect Perfect..."
