"I use 15 frozen ginger cubes and melt them with the butter and sugar instead of the fresh (a cheat idea from Delia) Don't bother with the toppping as it is so yummy anyway"

"Made this with gluten free flour as one large pudding and steamed it for 2 hours. Great, though will add more syrup at base next time."

"I used plain and white chocolate chunks and omitted the peanuts. As I am coeliac I used GF flour and also pure soya marge which is 'dairy free'. The results were very moorish and didn't fall apart like most gluten free biscuits."
