"Hi, I'd really like to know the depth of the cake too. I'm making a 4 tier wedding cake soon and want a good depth on all the tiers. The picture looks good, split into 3 layers, but I'd hate to make the big one and it come out only a couple of inches deep! Can anyone who's made it offer any advice please? Thanks."

"I've made this 3 times now, each time doubling the quantities! Can't keep up with demand! I left out the apple and used cider vinegar, added fresh chillies amd lots of garlic! Absolutely delicious with blue cheese!"

"I've done this twice now, it's lovely. It should definitely be two TEASPOONS of cornflour, not tablespoons. This is why the meringue didn't work too well for others. The recipe should be amended asap to avoid further disappointments!"

"I made these today, they're gorgeous! Rich, thick and chocolatey, I was looking for something to give to single or elderly relatives instead of a Christmas cake, and these are just the thing! I used dried cranberries instead of cherries, and they're lovely, and very simple to make. Will be doing a second batch tomorrow as I don't think they'll last till Christmas!"
