"Amazed that this is so highly rated. Its so bland it could be a USA recipe. It needs 2 tsp of mixed spice and 100g sultanas soaked in 1 tbs brandy. If you can't get any cooking apples more flavoursome than Bramley, use Braeburn. Zest the lemon before you juice it. Too much juice. Serve with sour cream."
