    "The first time I made these, they were fantastic and the recipe worked perfectly (...though agree that I had double the middle mixture than needed). However, I have since tried to make a second batch and twice the chocolate and cream mixture has split. I would love to know what I did wrong, especially as it worked perfectly the first time. I have now wasted 8 bars of good chocolate but am keen to make them again - can anyone offer any tips?!"

    "This worked a treat for me - yes, the mixture was very dry and seemed very strange when I blobbed it on top of the pear, but once it had been in the oven, it was great! Crisp on top and almost soufflée like in the middle. I found it a bit too sweet (and I have a pretty sweet tooth) so might leave out, or reduce the sugar used for cooking the pears. Otherwise, a winner for me!"

    Ginger & orange Christmas cake

    "Just a quick comment about the decoration of this cake - I copied the idea, but rubbed edible silver lustre over half of the stars. It looked really stunning! I am totally un-artistic but everyone thought the design was very stylish. I finished the whole thing off with a silver ribbon. Thank you Good Food for the idea!"

    "Made this last night - really good and speedy for after work. I added red peppers, courgettes and spinach and also used more tomatoes than suggested. It was delicious and I'm sure I'll make it again."
