"This cake was fab. I say 'was' because there is only a tiny bit left! Very fruity and moist. I soaked my fruit for 5 days and topped up the soaking alcohol after the third day. A really yummy cake. Now for the diet!!"

"I made this last weekend and all I can say is wow! Easier to make than I had expected and worth every little bit of effort that goes into it. My lovely butcher suggested strip loin steak in one piece as it was cheaper and he cut it in half and trimmed the fat off. It was perfect. Will certainly make this again."

"This was fabulous, I added onions and mushrooms and used cheddar cheese as I did not have parmesan. It went down a treat with all the family. Plus I think aubergines are a wonderful vegetable."

"Made this for after Sunday roast at my Moms. It went down a treat. I received such praise! I did not have rum to soak the raisins in so I soaked them in Malibu. You could really taste it in the cake. I will make this again."
