"I really like this recipe, although I usually jazz it up a little with some white wine instead of water and added spring veg such as courgettes (I used asparagus the other day which was gorgeous). The great thing about it is that you can use storecupboard ingredients: the halloumi keeps for ages vacuum-packed, the artichokes come from a jar and I use frozen veg, so it is a useful emergency veggie meal. I find it goes best with some buttered new potatoes. "

Raspberry & pine nut bars

"I agree these are fantastic. I made them in a static caravan in the middle of the Scottish Highlands (!) - I couldn't get pine nuts at the local shop so used flaked almonds which worked well, though probably don't give the same unusual tang. Excellent for dessert or just with coffee - a warning though: don't go deluding yourself that these are healthy, they have a whole pack of butter in them! All wholesome stuff though. "

"About the baking powder issue.... I printed off this recipe in December, and after reading your comments about the lack of specificity in the baking powder department, I went home and looked at my print-out. It definitely says 1/2 tsp baking powder. The online recipe must have got corrupted somehow since then. Hope this clarifies! "

"This was a great veggie main, I found my spinach topping was fine after being covered with foil, didn't dry out too much, but I did put LOTS more parmesan than specified in and on, as I think it needs a bit more oomph. Only problem was I couldn't find roasted peppers, so used fried fresh ones. I think this overpowered it a bit, so won't do that again. "

"This is a real winner! Very economical comparedto lots of brownie recipes, but every bit as chocolatey, if not more so. I first made this for Christmas dinner as I don't like Christmas pud, so I got a few envious glances from my sisters (who do), and they found room for a slice in addition! I have since made it several times, most recently as an Easter cake decorated with mini eggs. (You have to put them on when it is warm so they stick...) "
