  This is really nice!A bit like Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey ice cream if u add chocolate chips and walnuts like I did!

  Did not enjoy this ice cream, maybe it would have been nicer if I used an ice cream machine. It tasted like cold bananas, not even as nice as a banan split. Won't be making it again.

  Quite nice but the flavour can be improved by adding 4-6 teaspoons of nesquik powder .No good for the waist line but very nice .

  I thought this was excellent, really easy to do with no custard to make. Mine did set really rock hard though, don't know if that was because I only had a 300ml carton of cream instead of the 400 that was required. With hindsight I probably should have added a little milk or something to make up the additional liquid. I thought the taste was good and banana-y, but again that might have been because of the lesser amount of cream so it was more concentrated.

  I also used 300mls of cream, and felt better eating it for it! It didn't set in the recommended time so had it the following day. It set rock hard - probably because i used less cream - and had it out of the freezer for 15 minutes waiting for it to thaw a bit - but it was really tasty and banana-ry - I will be making it exactly the same way next time - yummy!

  Tried it with the 400mls as suggested but it was too sickly - I won't be making it again as my husband's completely gone off it. If I were you I'd make it with 300mls...

  I made this using overripe bananas and left out the sugar. No ice cream machine but just took it out every hour or so and beat it with a spatula then left it overnight. It goes hard but that's becuase there isn't as much air in it as commercial ice cream. Big hit and will make again

  Very good indeed. Also good made with a big dollop of honey!! However next time am tempted by the chocolate and nuts. What a great idea.....I love banana ice-cream - and this is simply sublime.

  I'm going to give it a try with whipping cream instead of double cream to make it a bit lighter. Hopefully it will turn out well. I love the idea of not having to make a custard base for it, so much faster.

  Got this in the freezer as I write, simple to make and a good way to use up my over ripe bananas! Have done as suggested above and made it without the sugar as my bananas were a bit squishy....will let you know how it tastes!

  I have just made some for our desert tonight. Can't wait to try out. I love the idea of the chocolate chips and nuts! It is so easy to make. No extra fuss just throw everything into a blander and ready to serve in few hours. Thanks for sharing BBC GOOD FOOD ;)
