Annie's Amazing Salad Dressing

Method

  1. Put the sugar, mustard, seasoning, lemon juice and garlic in a jam jar (in that order).
  2. Add the olive oil and shake. The mixture will be thick and lumpy.
  3. Add the vinegar and stir/shake well.
  4. Before pouring, give another good shake.
  5. *TIP*: This recipe is not exact, you can adjust the quantities slighty to your taste. The trick is to sample the dressing as you go along!

    I did find this dressing quite sweet. Is it meant to have so much caster sugar in it? I would certainly reduce the quantity if I make it again. Also, how long will it keep in the fridge?

    I used lime and we found the dressing very sweet. Next time I make it I will use less sugar or replace it with honey. Was the first time I have made an edible dressing and everyone ate all the salad. Was very tasty and had positive comments from guests.

    I cut the sugar down to 1Tbs, used Dijon mustard & white wine vinegar. This was delicious, with plenty left over for salads in the next few days.
