Method

  1. Line base and sides of a deep, 22-23cm loose-bottomed round tin with baking parchment. Mix the biscuits, melted butter and 2 tbsp of the sugar, then press into base. Chill while you make the filling.
  2. Divide cream cheese and cream evenly between 2 bowls. Add the white chocolate to one, and the milk chocolate, malt and remaining 3 tbsp sugar to the other. Beat each with an electric whisk until smooth.
  3. Spread the milk chocolate mixture evenly in the tin. Wipe round the edge to give a smooth edge. Spoon the white chocolate mix over the top and gently smooth. Decorate with Maltesers and chill for at least 5 hrs until firm.

This cheesecake is absolutely gorgeous! Really easy to make, yet looked very impressive. I followed recipe with no tweaking and it couldn't have turned out better! Everyone who tried it loved it, served for pudding after dinner for friends. I will definitely be making this again, and again!

Did a trial run of this dessert ready for Christmas and it was a winner all round, albeit a bit rich for my personal taste, but the family loved it!

Heaven. I saved a bit of the milk chocolate mixture and made a swirly marbled pattern on the top. Decorated with white and "ordinary" maltesers it looked and tasted fabulous. Too rich to eat much - but it's tempting!

Absolutely brilliant recipe really easy, tastes fantastic, and received great comments at family party. Would be easy to make smaller version and am going to try putting cherries in a thick sauce in hole in the middle of bottom layer before putting on top layer. - would recommend

malted milk biscuits are what we call in our family "cow biscuits" - the ones with the picture of the cow on.

I took creme fraiche as double cream is hard to get here in Germany. And Ovomaltine instead of Horlicks Powder. A real blast nonetheless!

Way to sweet and rich for me, but tasty none the less, husband and work colleagues loved it though. If I try this again I will have to do something about reducing the sugar content. So if you have a very sweet tooth this is the one for you.

Please, could anyone tell me when / if to bake this cake? The recipe mentions a 10min cooking time which isn't mentioned again in the instructions... as this would be my first cheese cake to make/eat I've got absolutely no idea as to how this works... Thanks!!!

This was the first proper dessert I have ever made. It was easy and looked good too. If I made it again I would use a better milk chocolate as I used a cheap milk chocolate and I don't think the layers tasted distinct enough because of that.

My teenage daughter made this dessert for our Christmas Eve dinner. It was easy to prepare. Only small portions are needed as it is very rich and very sweet. We have quite a lot left over and I'm hoping that it will freeze well. If we make it again then we will halve the ingredients and use a smaller tin.

Went down an absolute treat, was eaten up within two days between just three people! I've got no sweet tooth so I didn't have any but it was well liked and I received a lot of compliments. It was very very easy to make, a bit pricey for all of the ingredients but hey that's what Christmas is for!

I made this on Christmas Eve and it was all gone by Christmas Day!! Agree with the other comments that it is a very very rich cake and you only need a small portion! Was so easy to make though that i think this will be a firm favourite!
