Method

Mix the crème fraîche with the horseradish and a little salt and pepper. For the dressing, whisk the lime juice and zest with the honey, ginger and seasoning, then whisk in the oil. Lay the smoked salmon and prawns on 2 plates, then top with a dollop of the horseradish cream. Toss the salad in most of the dressing and pile on top. Drizzle the remaining dressing around the plate and serve.

Great starter that can be prepared ahead. Loved the horseradish cream!

Did this for neighbour's New Year's Eve dinner party as a starter. Was really impressed and the horseradish with creme fraiche was so good I put double the amount on. Used ordinary prawns rather than large tail on ones and they were just as good if not better. Only thing I would say is to get a good smoked salmon. I used the mild one from Waitrose which has a lovely flavour and isn't too strong and oily.

We had this as a light lunch on Christmas Eve - I just added some avacado and warm crusty bread. It was delicious, looked impressive but was very quick and easy to prepare.

Fantastic starter - easy to prepare - very impressive both in appearance and flavour. I have served it several times and it always succeeds.

Great easy to assemble starter! I used Marks & Spencer exclusive extra large Madagascan Black Tiger Prawns.....£12+ per little box but they certainly got amazing reviews from my Sunday lunch friends and easily served 4 guests. Would certainly make this tasty starter again.

My signature starter for every dinner party I hosted, so easy and impressive! I skip the prawns and add half a teaspoon of red (salmon) caviar on the dollop of horseradish cream to make it extra posh

So easy to make and really delicious. I used rocket salad which added a nice pepper flavour. Yummy!

This went down a storm at a dinner party for 10. I made mine in individual ramekins, which made all 10 a lot easier to refrigerate before hand. The dressing was added just before serving. Delicious. There was also a lot of lime dressing left over at the end, which tastes good added to stir fry's!

Perfect for a dinner party as you can make it ahead of time, everyone loved this, including people who are a bit fussy with flavours.

Great starter, easily assembled and adapted for larger numbers. Both the horseradish cream and vinigrette were outstanding. For me a real top drawer starter, and yet incredably easy.

Brilliant! Tasty, quick and easy to prepare ahead of time. Everyone loved it. Horseradish in creme fraiche was really lovely - will definitely be using that in other recipes as well.
