  • 1 tbsp clear honey
  • 12 prunes
  • 24 rashers streaky bacon

Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Toss the sausages in a bowl with the honey until all are well coated. Wrap each sausage and prune in a piece of bacon, then skewer with a cocktail stick. Put on a baking sheet and cook for 30 mins.

I made these on Christmas day but had the sausages with dinner and the prunes as a canape. The honey gave the sausages a lovely taste. The prunes were also good but unfortunately i didn't have much bacon so had to be quite stingy which I wouldn't reccommend. Next time I'll buy more but they were delicious all the same!

Light soy sauce and a half teaspoon of fresh grated ginger in the marinade is GREAT. I also agree with cutting down the cooking time.

loved them the prune was the best for me cooked for 25mins
did'nt stay to long on the plate ,was a big hit in my house .....
Jaynebabe was right to to suggest the cooking time 25min was just right.... thanks jaynebabe

made these to serve with a roast chicken dinner but ate most of them before we sat donw to eat.
I didn`t use the honey and they still tasted good.
also made these as for a party and brought them along and served as a canape.
everyone loved them .
easy to make just, make sure you have enough cocktail sticks.
love the prune ones ,so sweet and sticky.
these do not last long in our five year loves them.
didnot cook for 30 mins (as my cooker is quite pokey) but just 25 mins.i would suggest to check them at 25 and take out if nicely browned .

I don't feel that everyone is giving this recipe enough justice. I've recently had these at The Witchery in Edinburgh and there were absolutely delicious! The only difference that they had wrapped a prune and a sausage with one piece of bacon together. Would definitely recommend and I'll actually be making them myself today :)

Do you freeze them before or after cooking? And also, what are the extra 12 pieces of bacon for?

Why does it say 'wrap each sausage and a prune in a piece of bacon' when clearly in the picture the sausages and prunes are wrapped in bacon seperately and the recipe calls for 12 sausages, 12 prunes and 24 pieces of bacon? Not very clear at all!
