Delicious soup, brilliant to freeze. I made it without the potato as I'd forgotten I didn't have any, still worked really well and was not too thin at all.

I have to say that although pea and ham soup isn't my favourite, after making this - it is now! It was so delicious, and my boyfriend ate about three bowls of it, and told me it was the nicest soup he's ever tasted. I used the best quality frozen peas i could get, and i used a little more cooked ham than suggested. I put most of the ham in the soup before i blended it, and then just put the rest in and stirred it all with a spoon. Personally, I like something to chew on when I eat soup, otherwise I find it a little boring. Gorgeous green colour, it fills you up, tastes great, and it's good for you too! Definitely a winner in our home :o)

Made this yesterday. Absolutely delicious. Just had a text from the other half, saying that he loved it for his lunch. My son ate it also, which is very unusual. Will definitely make again. I left some bigger chunks of ham & put them in at the end.

I love ham and pea soup and this is a tasty and simple receipe. We have boiled gammon fairly often and I use the water that remains after removing the gammon (First getting rid of any fat floating on the top). This gives it a really great ham taste. I also find that dried peas, soaked overnight increase the pea flavour but takes longer to cook.

This is yummy thanks Lou - we used up our leftover christmas ham and some frozen petit pois due to go out of date , used pancetta as that's what I had - great result. It's very thick so you may want more stock or water.

I have just tried this for the first time and not only were the instructions easy to follow but I had all the ingredients in so hardly any effort required at all. The result, well it's delicious and to be honest I'm quite surprised that I have made something that tasty! Thank you for the recipe, I will definitely show this one off again in the near future.

We loved this soup. I only added 1 potato as didn't want it too thick. Worked well. Added half the ham with the peas then the remainder after blitzing. Nice to have visible meat in the soup. Would definitely make this again.

Absolutely delicious soup recipe, in fact, one of the nicest soup's I have ever tasted. It is a big hit with my family, inc the children. We have it at least once a week with some home made bread. We eat it as a main meal as it is very filling. I add more garlic and milk to my recipe, lovely (",)

Not too keen on this recipe, instead of ham i used gammon and instead of panchetta i used bacon to sprinkle on the top. and the water from the gammon i put in the soup to make it abit thinner as this does get thick!
