Really simple cranberry sauce

Making your own sauce is really easy, and you can do it a few days ahead. Plus, this one uses only three ingredients

Method

  1. Tip the sugar and orange juice into a pan, then bring to the boil. Stir in the cranberries, then simmer until tender but still holding their shape - this will take about 5 mins if using frozen cranberries or 8-10 mins if using fresh. The sauce will thicken as it cools. Will keep in the fridge for 1 week. On the day, bring to room temperature before serving.

    i made this on xmas day it was so simple it took a couple of minutes to put together and then was ready in 10 minutes. it was so much better than shop cranberry sauce i shall always make it in future.

    So quick, and simple! I used one fresh orange for the juice and made up the shortfall (about 2 tbsp or so) with home made Sloe Gin. Also added a sprinke of mixed spice to the cranberries. Just lovely. Bunged in freezer for Christmas day - can't wait!!.

    I made this yesterday and have frozen it ready for the big day! It tasted lovely and sweet but I did add a sprinkling of mixed spice too but only as we like spiced things at Xmas! On it's own it is yummy enough though. Thank you!
