Method

  1. Place the rice in a saucepan with 300ml boiling water. Bring to the boil, stir once, cover with a lid and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 15 mins, by which time the rice should have absorbed all the liquid and be perfectly cooked. Dry-fry the sesame seeds until toasted golden, then tip into a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan or wok, add the pork and peppers and stir-fry for 5-6 mins over a high heat until the pork is lightly browned and cooked through. Mix the cornflour and soy sauce together in a bowl, then add the lime juice, honey, chilli and sesame seeds, plus 6 tbsp cold water. Pour into the wok and cook until the sauce has slightly thickened, tossing the pan to coat the pork and peppers. Serve with the rice.

I was so looking forward to making this, but when i did i found it to not be as nice as it looks. It was definitely too sweet - i agree with the other reviewer there was way too sweet. i also thought there was too much lime juice too so i would cut that down. I ended up having to rescue the stir fry with other ingredients because it was unbearably sweet and acidic... won't be making it agin :(

Easy, healthy and tasty dish. I have also made a variation of it using beef and cashews instead of pork and sesame seeds and that works well too. Also tastes good served with noodles.

I thought it was delicious - much better than packet sauces! I was worried at first because of the absence of garlic and ginger, but I was wrong. I didn't find it too sweet; in fact, if anything I thought the lime was almost too much, but maybe I just had a particularly juicy one! I also used sunflower seeds instead of sesame seeds because I'll use them more often.

I really loved this recipe! The only thing I changed was to up the amount of pork fillet to 400g to serve 3 (which you need to have - I doubt it would be as good with pork chops/steaks). It's definitely a 'staple meal'
