  I tried this recipe with ginger biscuits and melted butter but cooled it in the fridge instead of cooking it. yum.

  Absolutly delicious!!! My mum came over and made this with me. Really easy and a lot of fun to make. A funny moment was when i turned round to see my mums chin covered in chocolate where she had been dipping the sliced banana in the melted chocolate, lol My fella couldnt get enough of it, i will defenetly be making this again:O)

  I loved this pie. I had to substitute the carnation caramel with a kind I could eat, as I have intolerances, and I had to do the same, swapping the cream with dream topping, but it was almost exactly the same, and it tasted amazing! The caramelly hob nob base mixed in with lots of the dream topping was to die for!

  Boil an unopened can of condensed milk covered in water for about 3 hours and Magic- caramel, same as Nestles. Warning- keep the can covered by the water though or it will explode. Pressure cooker works well as well

  I've made this pie twice now and everyone has loved it...i added raspberries as an extra it went really well with the banana! Really easy to make too!

  I've made this for years - but only just realised I can buy the condensed milk ready caramelised - doh! It made life soooo much easier and I think tasted better then the long method I'd always used.

  My husband loves this... so Im just about to make it again as it is very easy to make. I use digestive biscuits. they seam to work ok

  This cake was anticipated for weeks as it was to celebrate the end of bodybuilding contest prep. diet...i wolfed it down whole yet obviously it was very heavy. You feel those 7000 kcals! The average person would only be able to finish a slice. Next time i will scatter cadburys flake over the cream as opposed to dark chocolate.

  I made this Banoffee Pie earlier today for the first time and it was so easy! - It even looked like the one in the picture and tasted delicious...although I must admit, I only used half of the recommended amount of chocolate for the top.....I highly recommend this recipe.

  This is one of my favs, all my friends love it and always want more. I sometimes use dark chocolate digestives as the base and substitute the dark chocolate with some Galaxy as i prefer this. Tastes so good but very sickly!

  @Shevy - good advice... About 12 years ago, my mum was boiling a tin of condensed milk for a banoffee pie. She went off to dry her hair and forgot about the water level. Needless to say, it boiled dry and did indeed explode! You would not believe the mess. The pan literally jumped up too and landed on the work surface, burning a hole in it. The caramel went 2 metres in every direction - it took hours to get it off the ceiling! And this would be far worse if anyone had been in the kitchen at the time. Hot caramel & bare skin = nasty burns. You've been warned! (I don't bother boiling tins myself).

  This recipe went down really well - so well I had to make 2 in one week!!! The only thing I changed was the biscuit base - I used digestives. Very tasty and very little effort!

  it was so easy but looked really impresive, took it to family bbq and it was demolished should of made two. didnt have any myself i dont like bananas, was thinking of putting some different fruit in it has anyone tried anything different?
