I made these for a cake sale at work for Comic Relief, using dark and milk chocolate, crunchie bars and substituting syrup with honey, they were really popular everyone commented how good they were! Think as suggested may use a combination of turkish delight and crunchie next time and even considering using this recipe decorated with small chocolate eggs for Easter!

mars bars also work well with this recipe. The higher % chocolate, the better the cake holds together and tastes. Play around with the biscuit combination to vary texture.

Used cheapy digestives and they had good crunch and tasted fine. I used 200g or milk choc and 100g bournville. The variations I have tried are turkish delight and revels. The turkish delight was lovely but the revels were FAB! Took into work and had lots of suggestions for alternatives. These are the ones I like the sound of best Clarnico mints Fingers of fudge Milky ways Read comments above and shortbread sounds good. Has anyone tried gingernuts?

Ive made this twice now - it always goes down well in our house and my son loves to help me make it - I add maltesers and milkyways along with the biscuits and the last time I made it I added milky buttons which were a lovely extra. I agree though that bars would be too much - I cut them into bite size pieces.

I have make these many times now. Ive used shortbread, digestives, bounty, fudge, Turkish delight, mini marsh mellows & loads of different combinations to get affect, so much so now I make them and never get to taste them as my wife takes them to work through popular demand!! The better quality chocolate the less likely it is to curdle I find. I also dust with icing sugar.

First time I made this I added malteser's and crunchie's instead because I don't like turkish delight, I also added M&M on the top to decorate it, it was delicious, I have a very sweet tooth and found the sweetness just fine but I could imagine it being too sweet for quite a few people. I can't believe how easy it is too make, next time I make it I'm going to try Snickers and rich tea biscuits - Rather excited about that as I love Snickers !! :)

so easy and yummy!!! You can put what ever you like in the middle too! Also a great recipe to do with kids who are learning as no actual 'baking' is required.
