  1. Mix white wine vinegar with salt & pepper in jar. Put lid on & shake until salt has disolved
  2. Add dijon mustard & shake again
  3. Add oil & garlic & shake well
  4. Serve over salad or new potatoes or french beans

    I've just made this (using rapeseed oil rather than groundnut oil) and it is delicious. I would definitely use this rather than buy a french dressing.

    Very quick to make and really lovely. I also added some wholegrain mustard which added a nice texture.

    Thanks for the great feedback. I also vary this by using lemon juice in place of white wine vinegar and wholegrain mustard instead of dijon. This version is great with fish or over new potatoes as a potato salad dressing
