Roasted figs with mascarpone & honey

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Wash the figs and cut halfway through from the top. Gently squeeze open then put in a baking dish.
  2. Spoon a little of the honey into each fig and add some of the comb, if using. Dot the mascarpone on top and add a tiny pinch of the spices. Splash a small amount of water into the dish and bake the figs for 12 minutes. Remove from the oven, baste in the juices and allow to cool down a bit. Serve on their own or with vanilla ice cream.

    We made this without the honeycomb and without the nutmeg and it was still really delicious and super easy - will definitely make again!
