  Not quite sure why these are rated 'moderately easy' as they couldn't really be simpler to make, but they did come out a bit dry and rather boring.

  i have made these before but instead of chocolate chip smarties, they were a hit in my house and as i am 11 i was a little pleased with my self i hope its worked for everyone els and good luck to everyone that is going to make they xxx

  These were my first stab at home-made cookies and they couldn't have turned out better. A very easy recipe with great results!

  Delicious! Forgot the extra 25g of caster sugar but it doesn't notice, left out the salt as I used salted peanuts instead of walnuts and upped the chocolate - it didn't look like enough. All with a most yummy result! Incredibly easy to make.

  Made this a few more times now, replaced 25g flour with 25g cocoa for a double choc chip, which went down really well. Also replaced vanilla with maple flavouring and the walnuts with pecans - definitely my favourite version! But I will say that 50g nuts definitely not nutty enough, needs at least 100g!

  i have made these twice now and i think it is time to start experimenting with the flavours even though my fiance loves them. wondering could i swap the sugar for something else to make them more healthy???any suggestions???

  yum I love these cookies - missed out the nuts and added double the chocolate (and a bit for luck - so technically it was triple the chocolate!) delicious!

  Made these as a Sunday afternoon treat but as I'm not keen on the taste of bicarbonate of soda, I left it out and used 1/2 tsp of baking powder instead. Only used the 175g soft brown sugar, no caster sugar and left out the salt as well, and used 25g of chopped pecans instead of 50g walnuts which was enough to give it a nice nutty flavour. They turned out really well and not too sweet, very easy to make, and went down a treat with my two sons and husband; will definitely be making them again.

  Great easy to make cookies. I don't like nuts so left then out, replaced them with Reeces Peanut Butter chips, and used white choc chips instead of dark chocolate. Reduced the sugar a bit too to balance the extra sweetness. Got 23 good size cookies.

  I've made these again and again and again. I don't know how people could find them dry or boring! Maybe you're cooking them for too long? They really only need 8-10 minutes, just long enough to cook the egg. When they come out of the oven, they're completely soft and gooey, but they toughen up once cooled and last for ages! I freeze the dough, too, so I always have a back-up supply. I haven't met anyone yet who didn't like them.
