Method

  1. Boil a large pan of water for the corn. Make a sauce by mixing the ketchup, sugar and vinegar with half the paprika. Heat a non-stick frying pan, then brown the pork for 3-4 mins on each side. Spoon over the sauce halfway through cooking and turn the steaks in it until the pork is cooked through and sticky.
  2. Meanwhile, tip the corn into the boiling water and cook for 5-8 mins until tender. Stir the remaining paprika into the butter in a heatproof bowl and microwave on High for 15-20 secs until the paprika is sizzling in the melted butter (alternatively, just melt the smoky butter in a small pan). Drain the corn, brush over the butter, then serve with the sticky pork steaks and a green salad.

TIP

The barbecue the corn instead of boiling it, wrap each cob in a little tin foil and berbecue for 10-15 mins, turning until tender.

FAB! I made this last night and served with mashed potato (with fried spring onions stirred in) along with mini corn cobettes in the paprika butter. Was really tasty and SO much better than bought bbq sauces - fantastic! A real taste of the deep south!

Lovely recipe. My son said the sauce was "beautifu!l" I used smoked sweet paprika which was perfect. The pork was so tasty with all the sticky sauce.

I didn't like this at all but my husband said it was ok. It might taste better cooked on the BBQ but I think there are better recipes.

Yum! This was really easy and quick to make and tasted lovely. I made twice the amount of sauce because I only had two steaks - but still only just had enough so will definitely make twice the amount when I make it again. Used demerera sugar as had no muscovado and was fine. Paprika made a really nice change to just butter on corn on the cob.

I didn't fancy the paprika much, so swapped it for balsamic vinegar and tweaked the proportions for the sauce consistency. The result was delicious!

So quick, easy and delicious. Second time I made it, I doubled the sauce quantities as everyone wanted more sauce (they loved it!!). Having again tonight with jacket potato, corn and coleslaw - YUM!

Was a very quick meal but didn't taste very BBQ'y to me. Best bit of the meal was the corn and I didn't do the paprika butter. Might do again for a quick hassle free dinner.

Made this tonight only took 20 mins and tasted really good. I didnt use as much vinegar and added a table spoon of honey to make it extra sticky. Tasted fab, will become a firm favourite for after work meals!

Don't know why but this didn't quite work for me. The 'bbq' sauce, the main bit of the actual recipe didn't taste very 'bbq' to my palate. Rather it was very sweet and the sugar crystallised in the pan (it my have been too hot) meaning that there wasn't actually that much sauce left after cooking. On the plus side paprika butter on the corn on the cob was lovely, and I like the idea, I served mine with mash and salad, but I think I will look elsewhere for a different BBQ sauce.
