Spiced sugar crust apple pies
Celebrate the best of British with this fantastic apple pie recipe

- Heat the oven to 190C/fan 170C/gas 5. Toss the apple with the caster sugar and allspice. Divide the apple mixture among 4 individual ovenproof pie dishes. Use the pastry strips to make a lattice on each pie and glaze with the egg mix.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden and crisp (sprinkle a little demerara sugar over for the last 5 minutes).
