I made this last year for a friend and it kept for at least 6months, think she may still have some left and it still gives a kick. My friend said it was really good and enjoyed it tremendously.

Will the IKEA bottles survive in a suitcase as I'm travelling to meet the family for Christmas and this zingy vodka would have to go in the hold?

Do you include the seeds when putting the sliced chillies into the Vodka to marinate.

I wanted a really strong flavour - bit of a kick! So I used 3 small chillis (including seeds) and left for a week - WOW, what a flavour! Couldn't drink too much in one go, but great for parties as shots :0) If it's in a well sealed bottle it should last 6 months.

Made this last week and left it for a week before straining and pouring into bottle. Very nippy! However a strange thing happened which I am hoping someone can give me an answer for. When bottling my vodka, I have more than the 1 litre that I put into the jar. How can this be as it is only vodka and chillies. I did wonder if my 16 year old son had drank some and put in some water to replace it! Would be grateful for any comments.

Melek I don't think it is possible for the volume to increase. It sounds to me like your son may have had a little taste (LOL) and topped it back up! I am just about to make some!

Made this last year and will be doing it again.. Left it a little longer and it got stronger - don't sniff it too hard it goes straight to your eyes. Really tasty & made a great gift.
