Method

  1. Add the oil to a large non-stick pan, season the steaks well, then fry for 5 mins on each side until golden and almost cooked through. Mix the sugar, soy, tomato purée and most of the pineapple juice in a bowl.
  2. Add the pineapple rings to the pan and let them caramelise a little alongside the pork. Add the chilli and five-spice to the pan, then fry for 1 min until aromatic. Tip in the soy mix and let it bubble around the pork and pineapple for a few mins until slightly reduced and sticky. Sprinkle with coriander, and serve with rice and Chinese greens.

Very, very nice, the only change I made was changing the chinese spice for ground allspice as that is all I had. Also used boneless pork chops - it was delicious, served with stir fried frozen rice with red & yellow peppers.

Loved this, on weight watchers at the moment and came out very low points for something so tasty. Served with stir fried carrots, broccoli and mange tout with sesame oil and noodles. This is going to become a regular at our house.

Good recipe, the sauce gives an excellent taste to meat. I also loved the fact it was quite spicy thanks to chili powder, nom nom!

I also substituted chicken for the pork, and also fresh pineapple for tinned. Also added some onions and big, flat mushroom pieces ... Wonderful flavours and a very nice change for our chicken supper. Very tasty and very easy to make. Highly recomended.

Had for tea this evening, I may have over reduced the sauce as there wasnt as much as shown in the picture. Still very tasty and a real winner with my 9 year old son, served it with basmati rice, french beans & sprouting broccoli. Yum!

Made this for myself and my parents. It was absolutely delicious, we all really enjoyed it. I will definitely make this again. Served with Chinese style kale as suggested. I didn't make any changes to the recipe, it was perfect as it is.

I was pleasantly surprised with this meal. It is very nice and so simple. I did add juice of a lime to add a bit of sourness to it, but that is my personal preference..
