This a regular favourite, especially with my 4 year old son. Very quick and tasty. Works anytime of year. Great with minced chilli on the top (but only for me, not my wussy partner!).

If you take into consideration the time it takes to thow this together then it really is wonderful. Lovely supper for an evening when I couldn´t really be bothered to cook but still wanted something nourishing.

I cooked this at lunchtime for the boys on the watch, I added extra prawns, extra Chorizo and used 2 tsp of tumeric instead of a half tsp, the result was 5 empty bowls and "when can we have that again?" I think they liked it !!! Not a true paella but very tasty, quick and easy, a superb lunchtime meal.

Before making this I read the comments from people complaining how bland it was. Add a full tsp of Turmeric, some chilli flakes and add a lot of Chorizo and it's fine. It's also quite a light meal which means it should be good when it gets warmer over here. The best fake paella disk I've cooked on here so far.

Even though this isn't a true paella, for those of us who don't actually like anything too fishy it's perfect. I ended up adding red pepper and cooked chicken, I cooked it all in stir fry oil rather than vegetable oil and when I cooked the rice I added a chicken stock cube to the water. The whole meal was incredibly flavourful, especially with the chorizo sausage (which needs to be chopped up pretty small), and I will definitely be cooking it again.
