Method

  1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over, not in, a pan of boiling water. Be very gentle with the heat as white chocolate can seize easily.
  2. Take off the heat and cool a little. Stir in the crème fraîche and cream and mix together until velvety smooth. Pour into 6 little glasses and chill in the fridge for an hour. Scatter over the crushed Mini Eggs just before serving.

Extremely creamy but nice :) I combined it with the mars bar chocolate recipe to make a two tone mousse! After licking the bowl of chocolate i now feel too full to eat it!

This recipe is very creamy, and its quick and easy to make. It's nice but very rich and i wouldnt call it a mousse. It goes very well served with chopped strawberrys!

This is so easy and tasty. It's a good basic dessert to experiment with, too. The Mars Bar idea sounds gorgeous!

No I wouldn't call it a mousse either. It is very sickly. Tastes a bit like milkybar desserts. I didn't think this was very special. Ok in small doses for kids' parties!

Is there anything that can be done to this recipe to make it more mousse-y? Im liking the idea, but I imagine it ends up like chocolate and cream gloop, in a word!

I made this for dessert this evening but halved the recipe as there are only 2 of us (it made 3). I didn't have any creme fraiche so I used Greek yogurt instead. I placed the mixture on some squashed raspberries in individual ramekins and it went down a treat! I agree, not quite a mousse as no eggs in it, the mixture is more like a creamy pudding than a mousse but deliciously sweet!! Will definitely make again!
