Method

  1. Pour water in a pot. Boil on hob.
  2. Once boiling place egg in water.
  3. Boil egg for 8 minutes.
  4. Take the egg out of water (be careful as the water will be hot). A tip: run egg under a cold tap to cool it down.
  5. Peel egg.
  6. Eat egg.

    I tried boiling the egg for 8 minutes and it was pretty tough and a somewhat unappealing shade of grey, so I'd recommend cutting the cooking time down to about 4 minutes.

    Hi Mark, A very good point. If you are boiling chicken eggs, 4 minutes is entirely appropriate. However if you have either an Ostrich, Emu or a Kiwi egg (Kiwi eggs are the largest in the world in proportion to the birds size) then boiling time should be longer. I was basing my time off Velociraptor eggs.
