Sorry to buck the trend but I am not a fan of this recipe. I know it says that the biscuits spread but honestly I think I would have had to put just 4 biscuits per sheet to stop them becoming one big one. I just don't have the time!

Made these earlier today. I was glad that i read the reviews beforehand. I halved the quantity, because i didn't really want to buy 4 tubes of smarties on their own! i also reduced the sugar so that they weren't as sweet. Made 16 small cookies, having them small means i wont be as inclined to eat as much, which is a bonus as they will last longer!!

Really yummy biscuits and my 3 year old son really enjoyed pushing the smarties into the dough balls when they were on the baking sheet. Will definitely cook again as they make a good quantity for sharing.

I mixed mine with part margarine and part butter and as I was making a half mixture only used a egg yolk. They came out really nicely and put different sweets and buttons in mine for my friends child themed party.

Check out how they price compare- they cost about £1.60 to make - much cheaper than a box of posh cookies.

I was disappointed on making these cookies that the Smarties completely lost their colour when cooked. The cookies were fine but not as colourful as the picture promise. Any solutions?

These were popular, only made half mixture, and made 18 smaller cookies, good buttery flavour, but thought they might be chewy, bit disappointed that they were crispy. Still good recipe though and would make again.

I made these cookies with my three year old son who enjoyed pressing in the sweets, I did not use Smarties but a similar alternative. I found these cookies were really nice when hot with ice cream and soft and chewy when cooled, I baked in a fan oven at 160c for 12 minutes then turned it around and left it for 15 minutes. As a tip if you prefer softer cookies then do not let the cookies brown so much even if they look very soft when taken out the oven they get harder when they cool. Thank You to all the people who said the cookies spread so much I made small golf ball size balls with 4 on a baking sheet which was perfect. A good recipe!!
