  1. Mix the soy sauce, sherry, sugar and 2 tbsp water in a small bowl. Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok, add the onion and beef, then stir-fry quickly until the beef is lightly browned. Tip out onto a plate.
  2. Add the broccoli and cashews to the pan, stir-fry for 1 min, then add the soy mixture. Bring to the boil, then cover and simmer for 5 mins until the broccoli is just tender.
  3. Tip the beef and onion back into the pan and heat through briefly before serving with noodles or rice.

Did'nt bowl me over but a nice quick tasty dish none the less and one I would cook again. After 5 mins of simmering the broccoli I did find that there was not enough soy mixture left and I would prefer mine with a bit more sauce, so will up the sauce quantities next time.

Nice - I took the suggestion of making a bit more sauce as both me and my partner don't like things too dry. I mixed in my noodles once cooked too. Tasty and quick evening meal.

Added noodles at the end instead of rice which worked really well. A firm favourite in our house!

I loved this. I have made this recipe a few times now and find it very adaptable to whatever veg you have in the house. Mushrooms go very well with this, as do carrots.

I liked this, but have only given it a 3 as I made a lot of changes. Doubled on the sauce, added garlic, ginger & chili, and changed the amounts in the sauce to taste. Didn't like the cashews with the beef at all.
