Beef stir-fry with broccoli & oyster sauce

Method

  1. Heat a wok until smoking, pour in the oil then add beef. Stir-fry for 2 mins, then tip onto a plate. Add broccoli with a splash of water then cook until broccoli turns bright green.
  2. Add the onion and stir-fry for 1 min, then add the garlic and cook for 1 min more. Pour in the oyster sauce and 125ml water. Bring to the boil and cook until reduced to a sticky sauce. Stir in the beef, along with any juices from the plate, then serve straight away.

Tip

Beef stir-fry strips are convenient, but for the best flavour, slice your own steaks instead. Put them in the freezer for 10 mins then cut into thin slices with a sharp knife.

    my family really loved this dish and its very simple and easy reciepe, one hint though is i added more oyster sauce as i felt the 2 tbsp wasnt enough and made it just right

    Made this dish last night and it was delicious! Used sirloin steak and chucked in a yellow pepper too. Served with noodles. It was on the table within 15 mins - a great no-fuss mid-week dish. (I even got my boyfriend to eat the onion which he usually hates!). Highly recommend.

    I loved this recipe. Really tasty, I added carrots, extra oyster sauce and a bit of soy and it was magic. Tastes terrific served with basmati rice. Will definately make again.

    Great! easy mid week meal. I added more oyster sauce, mushrooms and bok choy to bulk it out for the family, and at the last minute stirred in some udon noodles - delish, cheap and filling!

    We spiced it up with a red chili and did double the amount of oyster sauce. We also fried the beef in a bit of soya sauce. Delicious and very easy.
