Method

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or large frying pan to smoking hot. Add the steak and cook for a minute, turning to seal and lightly brown. Turn the heat down to medium and add the curry paste. Stir well and add 2-3 tbsp water.
  2. Add the beans and red pepper and cook for 5-6 minutes. Add a little more water if you prefer more sauce and serve with the brown basmati rice and the peanuts sprinkled over.

Recipe Extra

This also works well with pork. It's quite spicy so you might like to add a little coconut milk instead of the water.

Very tasty - I didn't have any coconut milk to tone down the heat so added a very small amount of creme fraiche which seemed to work really well - both me and my partner enjoyed it very much!

Very nice. I added a chilli and a splash of coconut milk out of personal preference but the original is pretty tasty.

I agree and think that this dish is much much nicer with a splash of coconut milk - or else it tends to be a bit too dry. However, I really enjoyed it and will certainly be making it again soon.

Husband and i enjoyed this very much and will defiantly be making it again. We served it with egg fried rice and added a little chilli to it, which tasted great.

Bit basic - recipe made absolutely no mention of coconut milk as standard which surely it must have needed. Easy - yes & the steak was gorgeous (with fat).Used a pricey red curry paste so no chilli required. Not sure I would do again in this precise format.

Don't they alway say that sometimes the simplest recipes are the best. Made this curry this evening and I've copied it straight to my personal cookbook. I used quorn steak strips instead of beef and both myself and OH thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Did think it would be bit bland just adding water to the red thai paste but just gave the ingredients a lovely midly spiced, savoury taste and for once not swimming in a creamy soupy type sauce which made a refreshing change. Extremley filling, super speedy and very tasty this will now become a firm favourite. Thanks BGF.

My boyfriend and I really loved this dish. We didn't think of adding coconut milk as it wasn't on the recipe, but added some crème fraîche instead to smoothen the spiciness of the food. The ingredients were simple and result was gorgeous.
