Baked maple & walnut figs with vanilla mascarpone
Why not try this seasonal delight and make the most of perfectly ripe, luscious figs

Preparation and cooking times
Ready in 30 minutes- Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Cut a cross into each fig about 3/4 of the way down so they fan out a little. Put a cube of butter inside each fig and put in a buttered baking dish.
- Scatter the walnuts over and drizzle with maple syrup. Bake for about 20 minutes, glazing with the syrup and butter. Serve 3 figs per person with a dollop of the vanilla mascarpone.
