Method

  1. Run a potato peeler down either side of the beans to remove any stringy bits. Cut on the diagonal into 2cm pieces. Heat the olive oil in a large wide frying pan and add the garlic. Cook for 2 minutes then add the beans, chilli and cloves.
  2. Cook for 2 minutes then tip in the drained tomatoes. Cover and cook for 20-30 minutes until the beans are tender and the sauce is thick and rich. Stir through the basil just before serving.

Really nice recipe, added a bit more chilli for a good kick and had it as a side dish with a Pork Chop. Nice and light and low in carbs, don't think the picture does it any justice !!

I don't dislike green beans, but sometimes find them a little boring, and this recipe has made a refreshing change. I used fresh chilli, and added some courgette and enjoyed a very tasty dish

This recipe was delicious, I added a large pinch of salt and sugar once the mixture was starting to warm through. Also, I didn't drain the tomatoes. Served with steak and jacket potato, it's definately a firm favourite.

So delicious! I used passata as that's all I had in, and served with pasta. I've done a similar recipe before but with cinammon, think we prefer this one.
