The horseradish sauce really makes this recipe - it's so simple and delicious. I sometimes add some dill on top.

Barbra I use scotch pancakes all the time just make sure when you make them that you do not add sugar to the batter. I also have made really small potato cakes instead of blinis!

They sell blinis in M & S I have just brought some to make this recipe. You can also freeze them. You will find them in M & S with the salmon and prawns in the chilled counter.

I always do these for parties but I have never mixed the creme fraiche with horseradish before . Will definitely try that next time. You cannot use scotch pancakes - much too sweet and too big!!

Quick and easy to make, tasted very good too. I made some without the horseradish and sprinkled a little ground pepper on top, those with, I topped with dill. I found a mixed pack of blini (plain, roast tomato and something else) but the flavours weren't very strong and will stick with plain in future.

These are such a hit! A real keeper. yesterday, I was in a hurry and just made tiny pancakes, a bit thicker than crepes though. SO good. the horseradish does add so much, with dill sprigs and lemon wedges....

I have served blinis with horseradish sauce for years. Always popular with guests. Last time I tried natural organic yoghurt (any one that is thick) and mixed it with supermarket bought basil pesto. Great! My husband loathes yoghurt and thought they were delicious.
