I make garlic bread with french long loaf (like ciabatta), unsalted butter (preferably kerrygold butter), garlic, as much as you like and parsley. Try it. You will never forget the taste!!!!

I use ciabatta (home made) and slice it, then put small knobs of homemade garlic butter on the slices, sprinkle with some cheese and herbs, grill for a few minutes till the cheese is bubbling.

This is lovely. Just how garlic bread should taste. I will never buy pre-packed garlic bread again. Thanks for the inspiration.

My husband said this was the best garlic bread he`s ever had!! I used a ciabatta bread mix which I mixed and left it to rise, then cooked for 15-20 mins, sliced it and spread with marg mixed with 2 cloves or garlic, some mixed herbs and some chopped basil and popped under the grill. Delicious and will definately make again. This costs a fraction of the garlic bread you can buy and is so simple.

Such an easy way to make your own garlic bread, tastes better than bought from the shop! I added parsley and grated cheddar as someone suggested.

I agree that this is not a really special recipe containing prebought bread, but I will rate it anyway as I did try to follow these instructions. I made it with country-style bread and fried it in a pan, it turned out well and even though I didn't eat it myself my boyfriend liked it and ate it all up.
