Fabulous starter for a dinner party... a nice easy starter and everyone thought it was a cracking idea to serve with a bloody mary... "better than tomato soup" was one of the comments!!

Excellent recipe - served to guests recently and everyone really enjoyed it - it looked very impressive despite it being so easy to make - most of it could be prepared ahead of time which makes for easier entertaining. I was careful to stick to the recipe amount of vodka as it was a weeknigh & everyone had to work the next day. However, the amount specified added a substantial kick.

These were really good together for a starter. have made them a couple of times when having people round, great start to the evening. they've been dubbed bloody mary kick starts for the small food but high alcohol content..after a few.

Served this starter at a New Years dinner party and it was a real hut. Left out the horseradish and fiddled a bit with the Bloody Mary to get the taste to our liking. Easy make ahead starter. Had a trial run with my kids and they lived the the toasts, I just upped the size to a standard baguette to make more substantial and easier to eat.
