  I made these with my 9-year old Azeri student as a way of teaching her to speak English as we baked. It was alot of fun and she was really pleased with the result. Unfortunately we didnt have time to ice the cakes but she took them home uniced with a smile on her face! A success!

  I made these with my 2 younger boys of 7 and 5, they took them to school for there classroom friends. They love to help make cakes, these are really easy to make, we decorated the tops with mini chocolate eggs for easter. Best of all they taste great.

  Just made these with my 7 and 4 year old. Delicious!! Easy and simple recipe. Would suggest to make a slightly smaller quantity of icing as we had lots left over.

  i made these (on my own...im 24!) this morning & they are quite nice. im nott much of a baker hence why i went for a basic reciepe but it certainly did the trick Thanks

  i just made these with the kids they're yummy... we used marge instead of butter in the icing which didn't really work but still tasted good :)

  These are so quick, simple and versatile. I iced the first batch for Halloween and in the second batch I added chocolate chips and coconut - delicious!

  My boyfriend and I made these for fun over the weekend and they tasted lovely! We enjoy making cakes and these were fun and easy. If children were involved I'm sure they would enjoy making it and the result is pretty much foolproof.

  I tried this recipe with my 4 year old daughter for Father's Day and it turned out great. We made 15 cupcakes though, instead of 12 by adding 20g more flour and caster sugar and 3 eggs instead of 2. It turned out very well! As for the icing, I added some milk to the mixture.

  This are really lovely! I had no vanilla so used a big dollop of golden syrup and they were just yum. Really good for my sweet tooth and kids loved making them!

  Nice and easy to make, made them with my four year old for his teddy bears picnic. We changed the topping to a simple fondant icing, also we got 18 generous cakes out of the mix.

  Great basic recipe, so easy for the kids to help and its a great base for any type of topping. We are just waiting for next batch to come out of the oven before turning them into butterfly buns!
