Salmon with wasabi mayo

Pep up your salmon with a fiery dash of wasabi mayo

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 140C/fan 120C/gas 1. Put the salmon skin-side down on a non-stick baking tray and smear the miso paste over the top. Brown the sesame seeds gently in a dry frying pan. Scatter them over the salmon, pressing them into the miso. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, mix the wasabi with the mayonnaise and put a tbsp on each plate with the salmon and lime.

Know-how

Both miso paste and tubes of wasabi paste are available from larger supermarkets. The oven temperature here sounds low but in fact it's just right to give a perfectly done piece of salmon.

    Really yummy and easy - especially for us as we're living in Japan so miso paste is everywhere (as are wasabi, salmon and sesame seeds!) Simple but effective recipe. I didn't bother with the lime wedges though. The wasabi mayo has some kick but not too much. Basically, really good!
