Ready in 40 minutes
- Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Fry the onion, chilli and fennel in a little oil until the onion is softened.
- Cool a little, then mix with the apple, breadcrumbs and sausagemeat. Season well, pile into an ovenproof dish and rough up the surface with the back of a fork.
- Cook for 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and crusty.

- 2 tsp fennel seeds , toasted and crushed slightly
- oil , for frying
- 1 apple , grated
- 100g fresh breadcrumbs
- 6 herby pork sausages , skins removed
