Saudi Champagne

Saudi Champagne

Treat your guests to an exotic pre-dinner drink (non-alcoholic, but you could add gin if you fancied)

Method

  1. Stir the lemon juice and sugar in a small saucepan over a low heat until the sugar dissolves. Leave to cool.
  2. Halve and core the apples and cut into small chunks. Mix the juice, water and lemon syrup together and add the apples and the mint (tear some of the mint leaves and keep others whole). Add ice if you like, pour into glasses and serve.
Try

Give it more kick!

If you prefer something with a bit of an alcoholic kick (which would most definitely not make it Saudi), put a shot of gin in each person's glass.

Good non-alcoholic drink that i served at work's birthday party and that became very popular.

This became a firm favourite at barbeques over the summer, with or without the gin it was enjoyed by all including my brother who is rather fussy and tends to stick to cola!

Not as good as I had hoped. I think the lemons were probably too acidic, it tasted like a sharp apple juice. I will try again since I like to make an effort for the non-alcholic drinkers.
