Method

  1. Slice the pork steaks into strips. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok and add the garlic and ginger. Then add the pork and stir-fry until the pork starts to brown. Add the beans and stir-fry for a minute more. Stir in the black bean sauce and add a splash of water, moving everything around the wok so it is evenly coated. Cook for another minute or two or until the pork is cooked through. Serve with brown rice.

I didn't think I'd like this but it was absolutely lovely and so easy. I love the cruncy beans with it. Will definitely be doing it again.

I really enjoyed this, and so did my kids. It made me discover how much my son loves green beans, he couldn't shove them in his mouth fast enough. My bf said that he thought it was "fine", but he said that maybe it needed to be served with something else other than plain rice, maybe egg fried with a couple of prawn crackers or something. I accidentally got black bean cooking sauce from the supermarket, but still tasty.

I think my black bean sauce must have been extra strong cos 4tbsp would have been way too much. Served it with jasmine rice, delicious.
